Counseling FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

We understand that counseling can be new or overwhelming for some. Here are answers to some common questions we get from those seeking assistance.

  • What is counseling?

Counseling is a process to address personal concerns, achieve goals, and explore difficult experiences to promote growth and solutions.

  • What types of issues can I work on?

You decide! Counseling is your space for exploration and growth. There are no right or wrong things to focus on in therapy. Whatever you would like help with is appropriate.

  • Do we meet in person?

Yes! Clover Counseling offers in-person service in North Seattle. Visit the Contact page for directions and details.

  • How often do we meet?

In the beginning, it is helpful to meet weekly for therapy. This allows you and your therapist to set goals and make progress. After the first 6-8 sessions, it may be appropriate to have less frequent sessions. Individuals with high levels of distress may benefit from being seen weekly for more time.

  • How much does therapy cost?

A 50-minute counseling session costs $175. Clover Counseling does not accept insurance but will provide a superbill for you monthly to submit for reimbursement to your health insurance company. It is your responsibility to check before-hand if your insurance will reimburse. Payment is due at the time of services. Under the No Surprises Act, you have a right to a good faith estimate of the cost of therapy services.

  • What happens if I miss an appointment?

We understand life happens! There is no charge for your first missed appointment. After that, you will be charged for any appointment if we do not receive 24 hours notice. There is no fee for appointments cancelled more than 24 hours beforehand.

  • What happens when I have met my therapy goals and am ready to be done?

Once you are happy with your progress, we end therapy. You are always welcome to return to counseling if new challenges or stressors arise.

  • How do we know if we are a good fit to work together?

I offer a free 15 minute consultation to make sure your questions are answered and you feel confident working with Clover Counseling.

If you have other questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
